What is a School Fund and why is it needed?
Ss John and Monica’s is a Voluntary Aided (VA) Catholic School and, like all other VA schools, we have to provide for 10% of the school’s upkeep and improvement. This money is not provided by the government. Any voluntary contributions to school fund go towards specific items that the school needs e.g additional books for our school library.
We ask for a voluntary contribution of £5.00 per family on an annual basis.
During the course of the year we also hold simple half-termly fundraisers in school. This will be an opportunity to raise some much needed funds and have fun in the process. This will be in addition to our usual Advent and Lenten fundraising for charity. The monies raised in 2017-18 will go towards the following:
- Repairing the Trim Trail in the KS2 Playground
- Supplementing books and novels in our classrooms and library
- Purchasing activities and resources for ‘wet’ playtimes
